How We Help

HHCS is committed to the well-being of the entire individual. Therefore client’s spirituality, values and moral standing are of vital importance in maintaining a balanced outlook. We value and address every area a client’s experience, paying close attention to the biological, psychological, social, interpersonal, and spiritual experiences.

We provide support and counselling to anyone in need, regardless of religion, gender or race. We also plan and conduct Funerals and Vigils. Understanding the diversity in religion, ethnicity and counselling, we strive to be sensitive to each person’s view of spirituality and cultural beliefs. HHCS uses a trans-cultural approach in nurturing the personal capacity to accept our own imperfections while attending to the needs of others. Our goal is to provide counselling which will help individuals or families regain their sense of direction in times of emotional or physical crisis.

“…A deep understanding of [our] own pain makes it possible for [us] to convert [our] weakness into strength and to offer [our] own experience as a source of healing to those who are often lost in the darkness of their own misunderstood sufferings.”

– Henri Nouwen

Services

Dealing with grief is devastating and generally a disorderly process; it is also a delicate time where attention, support, and positive direction are needed. Grief, loss, death and dying are among the many hardships, and struggles humanity faces on a daily basis. Yet, many of us are ill-informed about grief, ill at ease with the topic, and still others are at a loss in dealing with this inevitable human situation.

Grief is not only natural, but a necessary component in helping us deal with, and accept the unavoidable fact that someone we love is gone, or a valuable relationship is severed and we’re in emotional distress.
