Beginning Recovery

Recovery gives the body time to heal from the weakening physical effects of addictive behaviours on the physical, emotional, intellectual
and spiritual levels.

We provide a structured program which includes:

  • Client education and understanding of family dynamics both past and present.

  • Beliefs, values, attitudes and acceptance of worldviews related to habitual issues

  • Education and involvement of family and significant others regarding the realities, intervention, support and client accountability during treatment and change of addictive behaviour.
  • Strengthening love of self, others and society.
  • Guided imagery to identify personal strengths, weakness and “safety-net.”
  • Self-awareness and identification of risk factors, self-control triggers.
  • Warning signs, timeline, duration and coping strategies
  • Relapse drill, self-monitoring and self-management skills
  • Comprehension of accountability to self, counsellor and significant others.
  • Applauding significant stages of recovery and milestone towards positive change
  • Social, educational, emotional  and spiritual network of support for encouragement and maintenance
  • Instilling hope and reliance on inner resources to journey beyond present situations
  • Viable and useful options in coaxing clients towards the realization of personal choices
  • Helping clients understand the “Principles of Recovery” through various schools of thought and research. Understanding what part our bodies, particularly the brain plays in the recovery process.
  • Helping individuals incorporate new ways of living that improve the emotional and spiritual aspects of their lives, as they maintain freedom from addictive substances.
